Abstract
Radial integrals involving single-particle states in 17O have been determined from sub-Coulomb heavy-ion transfer reactions. Corresponding integrals in 17F have been inferred. Neutron and proton effective charges have been calculated. It is suggested that radial matrix elements obtained by the present technique be used as a consistent method for extracting effective charges from experimental data, and as starting points for microscopic calculations of effective charges. © 1977.
