Abstract
The enhancement of laser-ultrasound/electromagnetic-acoustic tranducer (EMAT) signals from Rayleigh wave interaction at solid surface features was reported. By using and in-plane EMAT receiver, transient surface acoustic waves were detected. It was found by B-scan images from surface slot or surface edge interactions that signal amplitude increased by a factor of ∼ 1.59.
