Abstract
It is argued that a recent derivation of new Frenkel exciton-phonon coupling terms uses methods physically inappropriate for Frenkel excitons. A simple model for the unified treatment of Frenkel and Wannier exciton states is extended to give a unified treatment of the exciton-phonon coupling. Results of the conventional form emerge in both limits, with no new terms.
