Abstract
In common with many Western societies in the twenty-first century, the United Kingdom is an extremely diverse context in terms of both religion and culture. Whilst the nature, categorisation and optimal management of this stranded tapestry of beliefs is set to remain the subject of sociological debate for the foreseeable future, lawyers are, in the present moment, left to manage its complex outworkings. This contribution focuses on 'exorcism' as one particular area that continues to generate both legal and social debate, much of which is born from the convergence of different world views within a single national and social paradigm.
