Experimental and Computational Investigation of the Aerodynamics of a Supersonic Projectile with Streamwise Slots

    Abstract

The paper investigates the role of streamwise slots applied to the boat-tail section of a supersonic projectile at Mach numbers from 1.36 to 1.83. The aerodynamic drag and surface pressures were measured in a supersonic indraft wind tunnel. Computations were performed at M = 1.36 and compared with the wind tunnel data.
