    Abstract

A deep and narrow interference min. obsd. in the ionization differential cross section of helium in non-coplanar geometry has now been found in neon. Min. are found in the ionization of the 1s valence shell of helium and the 2s inner shell of neon. The depth and sharpness of these min. indicate that a simple, underlying coherent process is occurring in the reaction. New expts. which will study the influence of the initial target state on this phenomenon are described. [on SciFinder (R)]
