    Abstract

Suspension cultures from Peganum harmala were shown to carry out biotransformations of a number of terpenes and non-terpenes. The rate of biotransformation was dependant upon substrate concentration, density of cell suspensions, and the structure and isomeric form of the substrates. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
