    Abstract

The paper presents results of numerical micromechanics fatigue characterization of Ti-6Al-4V/SiC composites having different fibre array packs and volume fractions. Multiaxial fatigue criteria which take the residual stress effects into consideration are applied. The results obtained show that optimum fibre volume fraction for reinforcement is dependent on required design load. © 1994.
