    Abstract

Prompt gamma-ray cascades in neutron-rich nuclei around doubly-magic Sn-132 have been studied using a Cm-248 fission source. Yrast states located in the N = 82 isotones Te-134 and I-135 are interpreted as valence proton and neutron particle-hole cole excitations with the help of shell model calculations employing empirical nucleon-nucleon interactions from both Sn-132 lid Pb-208 regions.
