Abstract

Trials against the SNCF for its role in the deportation of Jews from France to Auschwitz and other death and concentration camps have been ongoing in France and in the United States in the last 35 years. Financed by the SNCF itself and commission by the Auschwitz Institute in New York, this report gives the state of the research and knowledge about the responsibility of the SNCF and also assesses for the first time and in a critical way the politics of memory the SNCF engaged with.
