Abstract
Here we show that a structure containing a polymeric interlocking daisy chain is obtained from the reaction of an inorganic–organic [2]rotaxane [H B {CrIII7Ni II (μ-F) 8 (O 2 C t Bu) 16 }], where B is an organic thread terminated with a bi-pyridyl unit, with an oxo-centered metal carboxylate triangle [FeIII2Co II (μ 3 -O)(O 2 C t Bu) 6 (HO 2 C t Bu) 3 ].
