FRP composite material and its application in engineering: FRP 复合材料及其在工程中应用 (英文)

    Abstract

    The paper introduces the fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) composites applications in engineering in North America, Europe and Japan. First, some material properties related to composites are given in order to understand the paper better. Details are given about composite structural members and their applications in bridges, buildings, infrastructure, pipes, poles, masts, marine structures, et al. It is also indicated why composite was selected in these applications and what the advantages and disadvantages are of using composite in engineering structures.
