GAS SENSOR MADE OF POROUS FERROELECTRIC CERAMICS.

Research output: Patent

Abstract

The present invention refers to a gas sensor made of porous ferroelectric ceramics, able to detect gases such as helium (He), medicinal oxygen (O2), cigarette smoke, automobile smoke and carbon dioxide (CO2), which is characterized in that it includes a porous ferroelectric ceramic having an electrode of electric contact in each flat surface thereof, which is useful for measuring the capacitance of said porous ceramic, where each of said electric contact comprises a central orifice for allowing a gas to freely flow from one surface of said porous ceramic to another, both electric contacts being connected to a meter or multimeter through which it is possible to detect the variations suffered by the capacitance of the ceramic as the gas is flowing therethrough.
