Abstract

The sensor comprises a number of electric circuit elements sensitive to different substances and an electric circuit. The electric circuit includes the elements and circuitry responsive to the condition of the circuit elements and is connected to an output device.The circuitry is adapted to actuate the output device in response to one or more combinations of conditions of the individual circuit elements. The electric circuit elements comprise a semiconducting polymer, such as poly-pyrrole.ADVANTAGE - Provides a low cost and easy to use sensor for a variety of conditions or combinations of conditions, such as pathological infection or necrosis in wounds.
