Abstract
Thirty years ago, Mark Weiser articulated a vision for pervasive computing, while noting some of the challenges that would need to be overcome to make that vision reality. Since then, researchers have set about realizing both some of the specifics mentioned in that article (eg, Lamming & Flynn’s Forget-Me-Not) and the broader vision of computing that is integrated “seamlessly into the world” (eg, disappearing hardware).
