Abstract

Current Grid software lacks support for alternative authenticationtechniques other than using PKI-based digital certificates. Supportfor multiple authentication technologies is important, particularly ininformation Grids, where classified resources/data should enjoy finegrainedprotection. This paper describes our work in the design andimplementation of an authentication strength linked access control solutionto Grid resources. The solution, called Flexible AuthenticationMiddleware Extension for Grids (GridFAME), is based on the WebServices Resource Framework (WSRF).
