Abstract
Group work and alternative, non-traditional forms of assessment are outlined in this chapter. These are clarified as important components in academic studies for tourism, hospitality and events management as they lead to improved team working for employment. Creating leisure experiences in THE employment requires you to work with diverse groups of people, but also approach tasks in different ways. As such, assessments in your university or college will require you to work with others and create non-traditional forms of assessment. Guidance and strategies are offered to enable you to work effectively in groups. A range of assessments are outlined and linked to individual and group work required. This chapter, although written in support of academic development, will aid your role membership in a range of groups, and support completion of duties using alternative approaches.
