    Abstract

NOVELTY - A flux measuring apparatus comprises an entrance through which gaseous atmosphere can enter the apparatus, component sensor having gas sensor(s) sensitive to the component, and detector for measuring the response of the component sensor and for calculating the flux component. The component sensor is disposed within the apparatus to expose the sensor to the gaseous atmosphere. USE - For measuring flux of gaseous atmosphere component, i.e. ammonia. ADVANTAGE - The apparatus provides a simple and convenient system capable of providing selective and quantitative detection of ammonia. No large number of gas sensor in each unit is provided in the apparatus. The apparatus provides quantitative concentration and flux data even if ammonia is present as a component of a complex mixture of gases and even if there are common interferants, e.g. water and carbon dioxide.
