Abstract

Places stress on the role of iron ore exports in the consolidation of Basque capitalism. Traces the relationship between this process and the economic policies implemented by successive ideologies based on military dictatorship and monetary and fiscal orthodoxy. Also relates the economic take-off of the Vizvayan economy to technological advances, eg the Bessemer process of steel production. -R.Land
