Abstract
The following paper is part of the historiographical discussions about the contribution made by gender theory to the study of the social sciences and humanities, in particular, the historical discipline. In this sense, the article proposes to dismantling the more orthodox conceptions about labor studies that conceive this activity of human life as a productive activity only, leaving out more complex manifestations as reproductive work. Thus, the study takes a historiographical revision towards the construction of the discipline and women in Chilean history, and then shows us new methodological research work in Chile looks, placing as the main study object of unpaid work and care of women
