Abstract

The large unmet need, development of standards, innovation in diagnostics and therapies to understand and address underlying pathophysiology, perceptions of educators and trainees, and benefit of quality mentorship and apprenticeship for the field of neurogastroenterology and motility (NGM) have been well-documented in the literature. The aim of this article is to provide accounts of successful experiences that have translated into blossoming careers in the NGM field. The target audience is foreign gastrointestinal post-doctoral fellows considering a United States NGM fellowship, apprenticeship, or post-doctoral position.
