Abstract

I examine the ways in which theory can improve strategy education and learning. It does so by examining one key question: how and why, and across which dimensions do firms differ? Pedagogical approaches can be formulated to test the proposition that firms differ to challenge students to explore the reasons for those differences (and the impact of this on strategy) and to discover systematic differences and similarities in firms cross a wide variety of contexts.
