    Abstract

In this paper, a hybrid intelligent control method for a closed-circuit grinding process (CCGP) is developed to stabilize the grinding process in mineral processing and replace the manual operation. This method integrates a cascade averaging controller (CAC), an abnormal sump level controller using rule based reasoning (RBR), a switching controller for the slurry pump speed and a feeding concentration controller of the hydroclone into one efficient control module. The hybrid intelligent control system has been built and implemented in a concentration plant in China. The industrial applications show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method. ©2010 IEEE.
