Abstract
The interrogation method involves applying a periodic electrical signal to a gas sensor. A signal is obtained from it. An operation is performed on the obtained signal to obtain the sensor response at several frequencies. The operation includes a transformation to the frequency domain of the signal or a quality related to the signal. The gas sensor includes semiconducting organic polymer. Alteratively the gas sensor is a metal oxide, bulk acoustic wave or surface acoustic wave device. The periodic electrical signal is a pseudo random binary signal.ADVANTAGE - Improved performance of multifrequency measurement of sensors in which time domain measurement techniques are accompanied by appropriate transformation to frequency domain.
