Abstract

Besides doctors and dentists, an increasing range of healthcare professionals such as nurses and pharmacist scan become independent prescribers (IPs). The implementation of independent prescribing relies on IPs working closely with their colleagues and patients to prescribe in a safe and effective manner. To date no study exists which combines the perceptions and experiences of IPs, their colleagues and patients. The aim of the study was to gather views and experiences of IPs, their colleagues and patients on independent prescribing within primary care
