Atherosclerotic renovascular disease is a common cause of endstage renal failure 1 Angioplasty of the renal artery has been used to try to prevent endstage renal disease However, surrogate measurement of renal function has been flawed,2 since measurements of overall function have been used rather than function in the angioplastied kidney We have applied a techique of measurement to assess individual function in a kidney before and after angioplasty.
