Investigation of the fluidized bed coating process by process tomogrpahy and mathematical modeling

    Abstract

    The solids concentration and moisture content is investigated in a fluidized bed coating and drying process based on electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) combined mathematical modelling The ECT sensor consists of 12-4-8 combined external-internal electrodes. The 12-4 ECT sensor is used to measure the solids concentration in the annular fluidization regime and the eight electrodes ECT sensor is used to measure the solids concentration in the coating regime. The measurement result is compared and validated with conventional measurement method. A typical drying process is analyzed and controlled based on the ECT measurement and modeling results. © 2015, Science Press. All right reserved.
