    Abstract

In recent years, some of the world's deregulated electricity industries have exhibited a preference for the use of transmission rights as a way to offer an open access to the transmission network capacity, to inject or withdraw electricity at different locations. This article discusses the critical analysis as well as the main issues of concern related to the application of such schemes.
