Abstract

Are Jews a global people or are they a national people defined by a specific national state? This question lies at the heart of both Jewish and anti-Semitic images of the Jews. The multi-disciplinary volume explores in international context how, from ideas of “double loyalty” within national states to the pre-eminence of modern Zionism among most religious Jews, today's mundivagant role of Jews has evolved across in time and space.
