Abstract

The objective of this paper is to show to what extent it is possible to speak of the existence of permanently precarious or discontinuous trajectories in Spain, beyond the well-known age effect. The available variables for the 2001-2006 period coming from the Fundació Jaume Bofill's Inequalities Panel have been exploited by means of a cluster analysis coupled with a logistic regression. The results of this analysis show that gender and age are among the most important variables when determining precarious trajectories. These results also seem to point towards the existence of a generation gap in labour trajectories, although the limited length of the available panel data does not make it possible to state that this gap can be extended to any social profile.
