    Abstract

Tristimulus colorimetry using filter based instrumentation suffers from instrument to instrument variation that is difficult to eliminate. Instrument metamerism is also inherent in a three channel measurement system and the conventional solution is to use spectro photometric analysis. Laser based Tristimulus Colorimetry using just three monochromatic laser-generated wavelengths is a logical alternative and the result is a potentially cheap rugged on-line abridged spectro-photometer.
