Abstract
A 7-year-old child developed BK virus-induced hemorrhagic cystitis on day 16 after an allogeneic bone marrow transplant. Contrary to previous reports, intravesical instillation of prostaglandin E2 was associated with considerable discomfort and failed to alleviate symptoms. Supportive treatment thereafter consisted of adequate hydration until the spontaneous resolution of symptoms on day 52.
