    Abstract

Welcome to the 4th International Workshop on Requirements Patterns (RePa 2014) atRE’14!Building on the success of the previous three RePa Workshops (RePa 2011, RePa 2012and RePa 2013), the overall aim of RePa 2014 is to promote and support the developmentand sharing of patterns, tools, methods, and repositories to facilitate pattern-based reuseat the requirements level. To this end, RePa 2014 has the following objectives:1. To solicit patterns that capture knowledge and best practices of RE processes andproducts;2. To enable the development of tools and processes to support pattern-based reuse;3. To share case studies and examples, which promote and validate requirementspatterns. In line with these objectives, the anticipated outcome of the workshop is to start acollaborative effort on a shared requirements patterns repository and a handbook ofrequirements patterns. We received 10 submissions, a mixture of long and short papers, each of which wasassigned to three PC members for review. Based on the review comments, two borderlinepapers received further review by members of the organizing committee and one of themwent through a shepherding process. At the end, we have accepted 8 papers, comprising 6long and 2 short papers.RePa 2014 would not have been possible without the help and support of many people. We thank our PC members for their timely and expert review of the papers. Many of thePC members have been supporting us since the first RePa workshop; to them we wouldlike to express our gratitude. We thank the RE’14 Workshop Chairs, Travis Breaux andEric Knauss, for their advice and support; the conference publishing team, for helping usproduce the proceedings. Last but not the least, we thank our authors for theircontributions to the workshop. We hope you will find RePa 2014 both an enjoyable and informative event and lookforward to seeing you in Karlskrona, Sweden, on 26 August.
