Abstract
Widowed after only fourteen years of marriage, Lizzie Macdonald outlived her ‘photographic artist’ husband, Halsey Freeman by almost thirty nine years. During this time (and despite a succession of significant house moves in and around Tewkesbury), she assiduously dedicated herself to preserving all she could of Halsey’s personal and photographic effects – not realising perhaps that one day, the same might prove of historical interest. Since then – and through the good auspices of the Historical Society Bulletin in particular - most of Halsey’s photos have appeared in print. However, a few remain unpublished. Now at last these too can be seen – albeit this time from a Macdonald perspective
