Abstract

Chapter on the influence of Japanese culture on Georges Perec's work, with particular reference to 'the infraordinary'. Perec is a major post-war French writer. The chapter appeared in a volume emanating from a prestigious conference in Tokyo (including Gerard Mace, Philippe Forest, Michael Ferrier, three well-known contemporary French writers and thinkers participating) which traced the influence of Japanese culture on post-war French culture and thought.
