Abstract

Recently it was demonstrated that growth of porous anodic alumina (PAA) and sol-gel synthesis allow fabrication of luminescent images that exhibit room temperature green and red coloured lightening under UV excitation. Here, the possibilities of tailoring PAA growth and consequent application of xerogels and highly luminescent quantum dots are described aimed at the generation of multicolour luminescent images. Blue photoluminescence, originating from the PAA, grown under selected conditions, is reported.
