Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

This book provides information about the spatial data which can be used to produce maps as well as maps still printed conventionally on a printing press and distributed more widely. It provides information about the organizations in the UK collecting and marketing spatial data and designing and publishing maps. It describes the data, the maps and provides addresses, telephone and fax numbers for the organizations and publishers. The book offers an evaluation and appreciation of maps as graphic tools, placing them in the context of their immediate history and of recent technological, political and economic change. The twenty chapters have been arranged under a range of topographic and thematic headings.
