Abstract

This report is a critical review of the literature relating to the measurement of poverty of older people in the UK. It is current as at August 2008. It was the product of a six month fellowship between June 2007 and January 2008 to consider existing evidence of how well different existing evidence of how well different existing poverty measures capture pensioner poverty, consider alternative methods for the measurement of pensioner poverty, and to identify knowledge gaps in the measurement of pensioner poverty.
