Abstract
This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:
To assess whether the quantity and quality of sleep may be improved by administration of melatonin to patients in the intensive care unit. To assess whether melatonin given for sleep promotion improves both physical and psychological patient outcomes.
