Mental Well-being Outcomes for Deaf Young People

    Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

    Abstract

We do not know enough about deaf children’s mental health difficulties. For example: if a deaf child has mental health difficulties in childhood does that mean they will have difficulties as an adult? What influences mental well-being as deaf children grow up? How do deaf people’s views of their own life events and experiences influence their understanding of well-being? This research study will begin to answer those questions. It will follow up a group of deaf people who were originally studied as children in 1988 and ask them to take part in this new research to find out what happened next to them.
