Abstract
Diseased-cell secreted proteins/peptides offer several leads in biomarker development. Blood is a rich and universal source of biomarkers because of its proximity to all cells in the body. However, important physiological and practical aspects need consideration before serum peptidomics is effectively applied in a clinical, and later bedside, setting. © 2009 Bentham Science Publishers Ltd.
