Abstract

Mild and efficient synthesis of new synthetically useful aryliodonium ylides of 2,6-dimethylpyrimidin-4-ol (3a-d) using (dichloroiodo)arenes in aqueous medium is reported. Antibacterial activity of these ylides 3a-d against Escherichia coli and Bacillus Licheniformis is also described. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
