Abstract
Multistatic radar systems are increasing in popularity due to the advancement in technology and the need to optimize the use of the frequency spectrum. To obtain flexibility in design and reduce the overall cost and complexity of the radar system range only multistatic radars are often considered. Locating targets using range only multistatic radars is a challenging task that may require advanced processing techniques to effectively associate measurements. The Interval Analysis technique has been considered for two dimensional target detection and tracking as a new mathematical approach for solving state estimation problem, instead of the more popular approach using probability density mathematic. This paper investigates the three dimensional (3D) range only target detection technique using Interval Analysis (IA) technique. The modelling methodology to implement IA and detect targets is presented within this paper. The results also address the ambiguity in the elevation estimation
