Abstract

Initiative, self-awareness, influence, assertiveness and competence are all evident when you are motivated. This chapter discusses key theories on motivation including expectancy and intrinsic/extrinsic outcomes from being motivated. Using human resource, psychology and team working theory you will consider how to appraise and develop motivation for academic and professional tasks. Six techniques are outlined to clarify how to motivate yourself in different tasks.
