    Abstract

In this paper we report the synthesis and characterization of a new fluorescent ligand, ACRI-1 and its Co(II) coordination complex 1, [Co 2(ACRI-1)2]. Complex 1 has been characterized by X-ray crystallography, magnetism and paramagnetic proton NMR. Nanostructuration of complex 1 has been achieved as monodisperse fluorescent nanoparticles and as thin layers on a HOPG surface. The thin layers have been characterized by AFM and GIXRD.
