Abstract

This paper describes a new iterative scheme for ECT, which can reconstruct images of the same quality as the Landweber iteration, while maintaining the same image reconstruction speed as the LBP method. An optimised step length function has been incorporated into the new scheme, so that the step length is dynamically adjusted in each step. With an optimised step length, the number of iterations can be reduced and divergence prevented. The scheme has been evaluated by experiment and good results were obtained. © 2003 International Society for Industrial Process Tomography.
