    Abstract

Abstract. A series of shock initiation experiments of hydrazine nitrate (HN) and hydrazine hydrate (HH) mixture have been carried out, and the low velocity detonation (LVD) phenomena of HN and HH mixture (HN/HH = 75/25 wt. %) have been visualized. It was found that in case of occurring LVD phenomenon, the lightemitting region (reaction zone) propagated at a constant velocity of around 2 km/s. And, intensity of emission from that region repeated irregularly strong and weak. According from the experimental result, the possibility was suggested that the reaction zone of LVD was moving along the circumference or 'spinning' in the sample container.
