Abstract

Objective: FET is a relatively new technique which allows combined pathologies of the thoracic aorta to be treated in a 1 stage procedure using a hybrid surgical prosthesis. The purpose of this study is to examine the clinical outcomes of concomitant FET in aortic arch surgery in our centre.

Methods: From January 2017 to March 2019, 18 patients underwent concomitant FET with aortic arch surgery in our centre. We examined the pre-operative characteristics and clinical outcomes of these patients.

Results: The preoperative demographics, intraoperative data and postoperative outcomes are summarised in Table 1. The intraoperative mortality rate in this cohort was 5.55% (n=1). The in-hospital mortality was 11.1% (n=2). The rate of postoperative CVA was 11.1% (n=2) and 1 patient required ECMO support postoperatively (5.6%).
