Abstract

Aims: Methods to form the oesophago-gastric anastomosis in cardio-oesophagectomy vary amongst surgeons. Justifying the use of one technique requires confidence that the chosen method is not inferior to another. This is particularly significant in minimally invasive surgery where options are limited. This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of hand sewn and stapled anastomotic techniques.
