Abstract

Pedagogy 2.0 responsive and innovation blende learning environments in a Changing Socio-technological Landscape; a Research-based Design of Saudi higher EducationLiterature has yielded valuable promises of blended learning in higher education institutions (HEI), Considerably, "increasing traditional and online courses have been converted to blended courses. Thus, it is believed that blended learning is the future traditional method of teaching and learning. Additionally, the progressive developments of technologies has transformed our society to become a more soclo-technologlcal environments where the new generation has grown in a digital habitat. This emphasized a much-needed analysis not only to transform traditional learning environments to a blended' one, but also build a rich-digitally-based learning environments with a planned, pedagogical valuable approach.In the context of Saudi higher education, there has been lack of the literature in regards to adopting blended learning environments and pedagogy 2.0. Thus, this research aims to understand the intertwined factors that govern the success of innovative Pedagogy 2.0 in blended learning environments in Saudi context. A design-based research will be used to provide a comprehensive examination of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE) stages of pedagogy2.0 in a blended learning environments which will be informed by a conceptualization of activity theory. Multiple methods of data collection will be employed to answer the following research questions; •RQ1: What are the factors that govern the innovative success of pedagogy 2.0 in the blended learning environments? •RQ2: How are teaching strategies reshaped to be responsive to the innovation? •RQ3: How are courses redesigned to be responsive to the innovation? • RQ4: How do the lecturers and their students' view their roles? •RQ5: What are their perceptions of the future of pedagogy 2.0 in enabling, enhancing and transforming blended learning environments? Therefore, this study will contribute to the interpretation of pedagogy 2.0 within blende learning environments in Saudi context in terms of benefits, challenges and , and future plan
